I have used Bell on a Moto sat 24" automatic. Nomad 2, for years and it works anywhere you want to go. Motosat is a great set up no matter what dish you are using. The only question I have is if Winegard is still using plastic gears, there has been problems with them in different climats. Macktee

The Winegard traveler is far superior to the Motosat. We have the direct 5 lnb Motosat with the Nomad controller. It can take over 13 minutes to find the Bird. The software has been updated about 10 times. Winegard uses a better method for finding the Birds and there are no software updates. The Winegard users report that it often takes les than 5 minutes to find the Bird.

I don't say you are wrong. But in all my years of using Moto Sat 2 - 3 minutes max to lock on bird. No problem. The upgrades have nothing to do with Moto Sat it is the sat company that changes things and it does require and update which if you have the card can be done in 3 minutes. This is from first hand experience. Macktee

Shaw (Star Choice) is the way to go. I use the smaller dish in south Texas and get a signal good enough for reception. It is easier to transport.

We had the Winegrd DM46 on a class C with the elevation sensor. We used it with Bell TV. You will only get the 91 sat with standard definition programming if you are more than about 100 miles south of the border. I have a winegard map with the elevation lines drawn on it. To get 91, it is a simple matter of setting the elevation on the dish according to the map and swinging the dish until you get a hit and then tweating elevation and direction for peak signal. Provides a great signal and is ultra simple. Once you've done it a coupe of times, you will be able to set it up in a minute or so - much faster than my Winegard Traveller.

We bought the Winegard roof top sat dish with Shaw Direct in January and love it. The only problem we had was not always getting HD reception. We called Winegard and Shaw Direct and finally learned that just moving a foot or two could make all the difference in the reception. We did just that and it worked. We did also have the larger dish on a stand before that. It's great to have the same channels we are used to at home every where we travel.

The Winegard is far superior to the Motosat. I think that Motosat will be out of the TV dish business soon. Tech support is now almost non existant and most Motosat dealers stopped selling the TV dish. The Nomad 2 sucks and that is because the software that they wrote is flawed. The whole system is poorly engineered. Winegard does not require any software updates!

We full time here in BC for the summer and southern California for the winter. We use the Shaw Direct system with a Winegard motorized dish on the roof. We bought the two receivers here at home and then bought and had the dish installed at Camping World in Oregon. After installation we spent about an hour on the cell phone with Shaw Direct assisting with the programming and teaching me how to use the system. We were also directed by Shaw Direct to make sure to buy the bigger dish as they knew we would be in the southern states. I get a signal strength of 93 with the HD receiver and Shaw Direct that is about the best signal strength you can get. I think its because of the bigger dish.
Good Luck.
