Just bought a 2000 Bounder with the Ford F53 chassis V10 and everything works like a dream except the cruise. It has had the cruise update done to it because I found the dealer paperwork saying it's done. Does anyone know where to start looking for this fix? I checked all fuses. No lights on dash, brake lights all work, just no cruise. Help please...have a long trip to Green Bay planned soon!!!!

It may be the switch on the steering wheel. Mine won't work when (1) the brights are on or (2) the left blinker is activated.
PITA, but not worth the cash to fix.
BTW, when you say "dealer paperwork", did you mean the recall for the cruise control wiring?

when the cruise on our 2000 itasca suncruiser...same chassis as you have...went out a couple of years ago i found that the vaccum hose had slipped off the nipple of the tank. under the hood and off to the right. took all of 30-seconds to re-fasten.

good luck.

Although my first coach was on WorkHorse with Chevy engine I had a similar problem. It turned out that there was a leak in the brake light circuit such that it was always energized in the milliamp range which did not light any lights, but locked out the cruise control which is deactivated by energizing the brake lights circuit!

I went to have the recall done way back when but they were out of parts at the time so they disconnected the cruise to prevent the hot wires. I never use cruise anyway so I never went back and had it fixed. My paperwork says something about the cruise being 'fixed' too. So maybe something similar happened?

The F53 cruise recall is a fusible link attached between the original wiring and the master brake reservoir. It may be disconnected or blown. Look under the hood on the drivers side.

Ok guys...why does the brake "BUZZ" when you touch the pedal when the engine is off? There's a buzzing noise coming from the steering column

Mine and many others are run by a small vacuum pump motor with air reservoir. They sometimes need servicing. New brushes and the like.
