After 9 years the blades on my stock kitchen vent fan have broken apart and I want to replace with a Fantastic Fan (maybe the create a breeze model but I'm not sure). I really just want a simple 14 inch replacement(I think that is stock size??)My real question is if I already have the wall switches in the trailer for raising the dome and turning the fan off and on do I need a certain model? I certainly can't reach up 9 feet to turn a crank. Is this an easy job for one who is not super handy? Just trying to save money where I can and do it myself. I would be thankful for any advice or maybe a model suggestions.

Why change? Call Fantasic Fan, tell them your problem, (have the model # handy before you call), and they will send you EVERYTHING you need, FREE. No way to beat that!!

9' up in the air? I would make sure I get the unit with a remote control. We have the one with a rain sensor and it works great in the kitchen.

I would suggest a maxxaire type of fan instead. fan noise is moved out and down away from the vent and you can leave it open in the rain. doesn't need a magic closer system like the fantastic fan does.

Hi,

Is the stock fan in your RV a Fantastic Fan now? If so, then replacement parts from them are going to be pretty reasonable.

If you don't have a fantastic fan, then I suggest that you get one of the ones with a remote switch. You will have to find out how many wires go from your remote switch to the stock fan in your RV, and get a replacement with that same number or one less wire.

On Alpha fifth wheels, I have seen Fantastic fans that have remote switching, with the ability to reverse air direction, open and close the vent cover, and change speeds from the remote switch. My guess is they have to run about 6 wires from the switch to the fan, but it might be anything from 8 - 12? They also had a variable speed potentometer, so you can vary the speed from practially nothing to full speed, and anything in between.

Thanks for all the replies. My fan is just the stock vent fan that came with the trailer and I would like to upgrade.I've heard lots of good things about this company and will contact them. Thanks again.

There has been a change to the service policy at Fantastic Fan. They will still send you the parts for free. They just ask you to pick up the cost of shipping. That's still worlds above the customer service policies of other manufacturers.

Go with a Fantastic Fan, they make a great product and they look after their customers.
