Hydro flame furnace in a 1991 Tioga. Turn thermostat switch to ON then adjust temp for furnace to kick on. The unit blower starts, then relay kicks in and valve opens allowing gas into unit, at the same time igniter fires. On initial startup it will not fire unless you start and stop the thermostat switch multiple times like the propane takes awhile to reach the valve. Then it will fire up and run fine. But after it reaches its temperature and kicks off it will not come back on and restart automatically. It will try but it wont ignite and then it goes into fault mode where you have to shut it off at the thermostat and start all over. Not real conducive to getting a good nights sleep when its chilly. Any suggestions?

Clean/Replace the thermocouple. Might not get hot enough on the first few tries to keep the gas valve open.

Maybe too low voltage (from bad battery or converter)

Your unit should not have a standing pilot, thus not having a thermocouple. It sounds like a bad igniter.

I thought about the ignitor but I hear it snapping and thought if the ignitor was bad it wouldnt just be bad intermittantly.

Could be any one or combination of low 12 volt supply, corroded or loose 12 volt connection/ground to furnace, corroded circuit board contacts/connector, bad circuit board, air bubbles in gas line, solenoid gas valve sticking, contacts on thermostat dirty, sticky sail switch etc.
You may need to become a furnace diagnostics expert. Contacting the OEM support may help. If you have a repair service fix it, make sure it works properly including cycling on and off with thermostat and get a guarantee in writing.
New Suburban furnaces cost $830 plus installation, Yikes!!

Anyone know how to get to the ignitor? Or can it be accessed from the outside without removing the entire furnace from the coach? The draft cap assembly looks as if (from manual) it should just pull out allowing access to the ignitor but I took the wing nut off holding it in and it doesnt seem to want to just slip out.

Does not have a pilot light for sure, it is self igniting.

First try this. Remove the circuit board edge connector wire plug. Clean the circuit board contacts gently with an eraser. Worked for me.
