You are correct. The person who said that clearly doesn't watch FOX News.

I don't want to defend the media here, because I have my issues with the media, but the trial of the doctor is in progress and has something happening each day. Steve Jobs died and nothing different is happening from day to day. How many times can the news tell you Steve Jobs has died? But even with that, like I already said, I have heard much more about jobs than I have about the Doctor trial in the news I watch and pay attention to.

Perception is everything. A screwed perception is a by-product of watching local news, entertainment news, and now national network news. I only get real news via "print" online.

Reality is that MJ was on the cover of Time twice. Once when he was alive;once when he died. Steve Jobs made the Time cover 8 times during his lifetime.

When you're the best in your business (at least as determined by the ratings), there is someone always trying to cut you down. Being knowledgeable (or even watching) is not a prerequisite to taking pot shots. I just laugh at their "kool-aid" drinking mindset and move on.

Whatever happened to the concept of "We're number 2 but trying harder"? Now it seems the only way some believe they can succeed is by denigrating someone (or somethng) else.

I thought the death of Steve Jobs was highly covered by the media. The local newspaper had him featured on half the front page the day after his death. News.com had numerous articles regarding his death.

I think there are more people are wondering why Steve Jobs got so much coverage than those who thought he didn't get enough coverage.

The MJ freak show started long before his death. The apparent public fascination with Jackson started way, way back and if you are confused as to why, you join me in head scratching. After "Thriller" it was all downhill as far as I was concerned and I have a real hard time feeling any sympathy for rich as Midas celebrities that fail to live up to high expectations of those that adore them--there are NO excuses for what Jackson became.

I guess that's why we record everything including the news. We just are not interested in the day to day events of MJ murder trial.. We fast forward through that part of the news each day...The only news we watch live is breaking news, like the shootings in Seal Beach. We heard of that event on the radio and then saw and heard all the helicopters overhead, we knew something big must have happened Wednesday...That was a truly sad news..

I really thought the coverage of SJ death was over the top; they actually cut into programs to run it. I knew him slightly (I really knew the people who worked for him in the early days of Apple). I did not think it was an event that deserved more than a normal story.
I will admit that I am not much for any news source except the internet sources where I can pick the stories that interest me.
