I've seen mid-entry Safaris, mostly smaller Trek models. They may not have been pushers, rather front engine diesel.

Hi

I looked a a couple of Safari. the Treks ARE F(r)ED (or gassers) Saw a very old 30ft Safari with a pusher built of a Spartan/Chevy chassis Same as my Old Odessa which I run over here (UK)Nice Coach but had Damp issues.

So we finished up with A winnebago (Triton Gasser).

I am a long way off from having a dp but when walking through them at the dealer it occurred to me it would be a huge pain to change out a mattress or fridge via that front bus entry.

I cannot understand either why so many D-P`s Have front "bus" entry doors. Its like walking of the street straight into your Lounge at Home? All that "fiddling" with shoes on the top step too. otherwise you are in "deep" DooDoo if you get some "mess" on the carpets.

We are just beginning the search for an upgrade, possibly a DP if we can't find a FRED. I like the idea of a side door.

We considered going with a Wanderlodge (FRED), but I was concerned about the noise and heat from the engine being right there, not to mention the age of anything I could afford.

After a few months with this Endeavor now, I'm really glad we went with the DP plan. The lack of noise and vibration is almost spooky at fist. There's a little wind noise, and that's about it. You can easily carry on a conversation in a normal tone of voice.

Whatever, hope you have a blast making yourself crazy with all the choices out there! Best of luck.

The friend wants a DP. Most all gassers are mid entry.

I too prefer a side entry - mostly for ease of going in/out for packing. We cannot store our MH at our house so there are a lot of trips between house & MH when we go and return from a trip (which is often). Also, we like to eat outdoors when we can and having the door near the kitchen makes it much easier to take dishes, food and beverages outside.

My other dislike is a split bath. We are beginning to look for a new M.H. and a full bathroom contained in one room and a side entry are my two major requirements.
