I see a lot of floor with the kitchen on a slide. This allows the dinette to be located on the curb side which is a floor plan I like. Anyone have any problems with the kitchen located on the slide? Whats the good and bad of this floor plan?

We have our kitchen and couch on our slide with the dinette across, we have had no trouble at all and love the set-up. I like that if we are eating or prepping food at the table we have the big window and a view of our site rather than our neighbor behind us. Our fridge is next to the dinette, not on the slide (stove, sink and cupboards are).

Look under the sink and see how the water supply and especially the drain lines are run, and you may answer the question yourself. My sink is in the slide and the flexible drainline came loose and flooded my cabinets. Fortunately, I had a slide-out shelf with a pan init and it kept the water from running all over. It's a nice layout, but I just know it's going to be an issue down the road again.

Though I don't have one, it seems that the refrigerator needs an additional fan because it can't vent through the roof when on a slide. I also don't get that warm fuzzy feeling about water or propane lines that need to move each time the slide goes out, but that's just my feeling. Another important consideration for me would be accessibility to the fridge with the slide in.

Our MH has its kitchen on the slide (and we love it) and we recently experienced a leak from the flexible drain line. After examining it I discovered that a PO had performed a gerry-rigged repair on a earlier leak which resulted in the current problem. With a little thought, ~$15 in plumbing parts were enough for a repair that should last another 10 years. The bottom line is that having the kitchen on the slide creates some issues, but they don't require a rocket scientist to resolve.

Our fridge, range/oven, and microwave/convection oven are in a slide. Sink is not. But no problems whatsoever after 4+ years and 12,000+ miles.
Everything is available with slides in.

The more wires and hoses that have to move with the slide the more chance for problems. It just depends on how well the unit was engineered and built. IMHO

my unit has complete kitchen in the slide. 4 yrs and no problems. my lines are flexable ones and everthing is good. It has been moved in/ out all these times and had zero issues. fridge is good and had no problems with the circulation of venting out the top. But some people with the bigger fridges in there slides have had some. bigger higher priced trailer have a larger house size fridges and do not vent good in the slides.

Consider how wide your slide is on your drivers side.
remember it is your hook up ,neighbors side. a wide slide there could in some places limit how you park, a wide slide on curb side is usually not a problem anywhere.
Kitchen slides IMHO are great

The way I see it, all RV plumbing is subject to earthquake simulation as they rumble down the road. I suppose having the kitchen on a slideout could pose some additional risks, but not if the unit was put together properly. You should thoroughly inspect all of your plumbing when you purchase an RV. Like many people, our main kitchen elbow PVC wasn't tightened and the leak shorted the outside stereo (under warranty).
