Put your jacks down so your capture plate just does have weight off of it
put your truck in reverse and gently back into the pin
set emergency brake
put truck in park
pull handle easily
That is the best procedure but uneven ground can complicate both unhitching and hitching...but I wouldn't trade my 18K SuperGlide for any other std/short bed sliding hitch.
PullRite makes an excellent hitch. When shopping around these are the best prices that I found, they also currently have free shipping, which is nice because these beasts are heavy which would be $$$$.
My Morryde plate was more than just set screws? It is just like the one on morryde's web page. The plate that the King pin attatches to does not look thick enough for a quick plate to me. IMO. Love the hitch!!!!

I may not be doing it right, but I make sure my last movement of the 5th is in reverse, put a chock behind rear wheel on 5th and pull the handle. The hitch pin needs to be forward in the hitch for an easy unhitch. I only have an issue if my last movement was to pull forward.

UPDATE: Following the closure of Carriage we decided not to by the Carri-Lite fearing rapid devaluation due to the possibility of products being given the "orphan" status. I spent most of yesterday negotiating to purchase one of two DRV Mobile Suites, both 08 models, both with standard pin boxes.
I'll see if I can send the Mor Ryde plate back for credit.

Pullrite has a website and you can check if your 5th wheel take a plate made for it or you'll have to use the universal plate, my first 5th wheel took the universal plate and it was bolted on and could be removed if needed, my newer 5th wheel had a different plate design and it was welded on.
When I unhook I leave the plate attached, pull the pins on each side and lift right out, if I happen to be at an angle, the slighter moves and I just place it in the proper position and lower the plate on to it, when you get your system down it's a piece of cake, most times I hooked up it two minutes.

I kinda get what you are saying but would love to be there to watch the process, I find the 15* max angle to hitch/unhitch to be the only disadvantage. ED
