Last year there were two or three nights where the water hose froze. It was thawed by 8:30. A jacket is needed most of December, especially in the mornings. It is unusual to need a heavy coat.

Expect high 50's and mid 60's during the days 40,s at night. Lik said light jacket in the mornings. Funny to see when they get a cold day (low 40's) the people out shopping with a heavy coat, shorts and tank tops. My kids don't even have heavy coats, they leave them here at our house 6500 ft. in New Mexico.

From someone who lived in Gilbert for 14 yrs the desert does get cold. If you spend any amount of time outside you will need a coat but if you're talking from house to car, car to store and back then a light jacket will do. Yes I'd bring pants. Temps get in the 30s & 40s and with the wind blowing you'll be glad you have them.

Safe travels....you'll have a great time in the area and be sure to check out Usery.

You will love it in AZ during winter. Been snowbirding here for several years. Have wintered in Mesa, Fort McDowell, Apache Junction and now San Tan Valley/Queen Creek.
Yes you may need some long pants some time. A light jacket. We brind a couple of sweat shirts. And of course shorts too.
