I have a Norcold fridge. I am on battery power with a full charge.

When I turn the fridge on, I can hear it clicking but F keeps coming up. I can see a pilot light burning, but it just keeps clicking, then shuts down (flame goes out) and the F comes back.

Any ideas?

Flame sensor (thermocuople) not positioned correctly or not working. There should be a wire in the flame. This senses if a flame is actually burning based on heat. If it doesn't sense a flame the control board will time out and shut off propane as a safety measure

That would make sense. I wish I had checked this before dark! I will see tomorrow morning, but this would be likely.

The flame ignitor is also the flame sensor. Once the flame has been ignited the probe sends a signal back to the board that the flame is burning. If no signal is received the propane then shuts down to the burner. They're fairly cheap to replace. About $20 or so.

Mine does the same thing; I turn the gas off after a trip and when I turn it back on I get the error for a few cycles. I have to turn it off and back on about 10 times. After that if works great. Maybe it gets air in the line?

If we have had our Norcold 6162 off for a long time sometimes it will error out 15-20 times back to back then keep burning. So far after enough times it keeps working and works without fail there after until shut down for a long time.

The flame sensor can usually be clean with a rough scouring pad.

I turn off the gas as well after a trip. When I first had my trailer the same thing happened to me and the fridge would try to start and wouldn't. Then I remembered someone had told me when the gas has been turned off between trips, light one of the burners on the stove and that will ensure that there is a steady supply of propane in the line. Since I've done that, my fridge ignites on it's first try.

There is definitely good gas flow with a nice blue flame.

There is an electrode in the flame which is lighting it just fine, but it must not be sensing the heat. I guess it needs to be replaced.

Its not the electrode. I am going to have to swap the board I guess.
