I know that today, Crossroads has a very nice reputation. We are going to look at a 2004 Cruiser 28RL. The floorplan and specs suit us nicely. I'm wondering if they had good quality ten years ago as they do today?

(It's 11 years newer than our present trailer, so we'd slowly be getting close to modern, lol.)

Crossroads has been around since 1996, 15 years. And Thor bought them out when they were starting to have deep financial issues in 2004, and were on the verge of going under. Since Thor bought Crossroads and infused their huge buying power and financial help to the table, Crossroads is now doing extemely well and Thor saved a RV Builder who does a nice job of building quality RV's.

The Cruiser you are looking at was built at the darkest time in Crossroads history, but if it's still up and running after 7 years, it must have been built pretty well!

Check out the usual roof, floor and walls for water damage, and the appliances too. If it looks good, go fer it!

Crossroads recently shifted from bolts and nuts to semi-automated welding for its cage frames. That is the only policy change I know of. Build quality hasn't changed much, AFAIK - the problem is still labor force turnover, and is true for the entire industry. You take your chances with any RV.

I have an 08 but it was bought after researching crossroads' track record the best I could, thru the years. All the usual used checklist items apply (leaks etc) but looking back I bet it's a better rig than the 02 wildcat I just sold.

2008 Crossroads Cruiser 32BL (Mack); 2000 Ford F250 Lariat 7.3 (Doreen); 2000 A4 Audi 1.8T Quattro (Lightning); 2006 Subaru Outback 2.5XT (Sally); Last but not least - one great wife and two beautiful kids.
Any opinions are my own and not of my employer.

We bought an '03 CF27RL new. Traded up to a 2010 CF30SKP a couple of years ago.

The '03 held up very well with minimal maintenance required. The new Patriot edition has slightly better fit and finish than the '03 but if you are OK with the unit go for it!!

Well we bought it! The price was right and our to-do list is not too bad. We won't have it home for a day or three. It will be a big upgrade for us.
