I just bought a 06 29RK from the original owner, very well maintained and the quality is very good with fit and finish.
The 2011's are nicer but the 06 fits my needs and my price.
Good luck with the 05 and post some pictures.

Bought my 2005 Crossroads Cruiser 27RL in September of '04' Have roughly 60,000 miles on it and it has been perfect. No problems, leaks or evidence of shoddy work. Can't be beat!! My feeling is you definitely get more than you pay for!

We bought the 28RL in 05 new. Still have it and love it. Have had minimal problems with it and have hauled it over 28,000 miles, including the mountains of Montana, Wyoming, & Colorado.

I got it home today. Photos below. After buying I found out that 2004 had a record of bad Al-Ko axles. These have been replaced. The Lippert frame shows no problems. For some reason I thought Crossroads did not use Lippert, but oh well. Glad to see many of you have towed a lot of miles.
The interior is great and everything works. The exterior has some faded and cracked decals. The AC and fridge covers are beat up from hail and need to be replaced. Actualy I'll use leftover black Plasti-Mend on the 3 spots on top of the AC cover. The roof itself looks good. The awning looks like it has never been used, but the exposed part is de-laminating. Maybe that was from the hail too. It's still functional but won't last too long.
The 2004's also had a problem with the straps that hold the fresh water tank. I suspect one strap on this one has broken, by the looks of things. The tank is really straining the Darco underbelly fabric. I can feel the straps through the fabric in the middle and street side of the tank, but not curb side. That is the end that is pushing down the fabric.
China bomb 15" tires. I'm planning to go to LTs. Suspension looks real good. This trailer was mostly parked on a seasonal lot. Battery is fried. I'll put in two 6v ones, and might have to upgrade to a better converter from the Parallax 7355.
Price was $10,000 even, plus tax. It was a consignment at a nearby dealer. I felt it was a good price. It won't be hard to spend $2,000 right away on it between tires, batteries, and assorted other things. They factored that into the price. The trailer has much more storage space inside and out than our present older-generation 5er. My wife remarked "I don't know how we will fill up the space".

The Cruiser you are looking at was built at the darkest time in Crossroads history, but if it's still up and running after 7 years, it must have been built pretty well!
Check out the usual roof, floor and walls for water damage, and the appliances too. If it looks good, go fer it!
I'd love to know who gave you this story - CrossRoads was previously owned by a man that had zero operating debt. CrossRoads was purchased by Thor when it was in a growth mode that showed advances of market share YOY at 30%+. The previous owner created Dutch Housing amongst other successful businesses and currently has another successful trailer manufacturing operation.

econometrics, I don't know where he gets a lot of this stuff......
We have almost the same 5er. Mine looks exactly like that except I don't have the bedroom slide.
Here's a thread from another member that has a Crossroads Cruiser like ours and it has several mods. You mentioned upgrading the battery bank which is one of the mods in the thread. click here..
