This will be our first year. We plan on leaving the day after Thanksgiving unless the temperatures get too cold before that.

We think we are heading for the Texas hill country first and then on down to the RGV. Or at least we will park in the hill country and take the car down for a couple of days to check out the RGV.

Any suggestions on locations?

KOA South Padre, Fun N Sun in San Benito. Maybe you can share some info on spots in the Hill Country.

First year Snowbirding. I've reserved a lot at Sunscape in Casa Grande, AZ.
I've put my snowblower up for sale.

This will be our first year as retirees and Winter Texans, we chose Rockport, Tx. and Drifters Resort. Really friendly staff and beautiful sites. Price was right, town small and most of all they only had 3 days last year that they had to wear long pants. I hate snow and really cold.

Not quite snowbirds yet but we are planning to leave shortly for Arizona and leave trailer down there and come back for XMas and then return in January for Quartzfest (Ham Radio) events. Should be much better than towing in January snow and ice.

Safe travels to everyone!

According to the Census Bureau, I fall into the Baby Boomer category but just barely. I was born in 1963 and according to them to be a Baby Boomer you had to be born between 1946 and 1964. That being said, this is our 2nd year as Winter Texans. We're in Mission.

We took our time coming down to Phoenix, been here almost a week. We live just outside of Minneapolis and last winter was a long one. This is our first full winter (6mo.) in the south. We plan on seeing a lot of the southwest that is to hot in the summer.

Not a full time Snowbird (ie. 6 months) but we started last winter by going away for 2 weeks and this winter for 6 weeks. Slowly getting there. Next winter, I have plans to go to Texas -- don't know how long yet.
