I have a 2011 Passport 2910BH and the sofa has a lot of space underneath that is wasted. The fabric that goes end to end (about 4 feet with no backer board) only hides the space under sofa. I was thinking of cutting the fabric in half and run it along the insides and use a couple of upholstery tacks to keep it in place. My wife would then like to get a hassock that could slide under and maybe a couple of decorative wicker baskets (with handles) to store items. Sound good…Any other ideas? Any reason why I need to keep that space empty?

Most of the RVs I've seen with available space under a sofa have outside access to that space. I'm wondering if someone has replaced a sofa sleeper with a regular sofa at some point. Anything you can do that allows you to use that space would seem like a good idea to me.

We have a jack-knife sofa with space underneath. We have three plastic containers, 18"x24" and about 6" deep, that we slide underneath. One is for canned and dried goods. One for shoes, sandals,, slippers, etc. Third one is for misc stuff. We have carpet under the sofa so a little self-stick velcro on the bottom, either half, keeps them from sliding around while driving.

We have an air bed type sofa with a slide out tray. We keep pots n pans and a plastic box with gunk we think we may need. Our TT doesn't have a pantry but has lots of overhead cabinets. We also use the cabinet under the TV for dry goods. Just have to get creative some times.

I managed to squeeze 2 rolling, under-bed plastic storage boxes under my jack-knife sofa. Use them to store my wife's sewing supplies. Found out they slide sideways easier once I removed the little wheels. The wheels would get stuck in the carpet. I also store a 4 ft folding table and my wife's cutting mat vertically behind the back of the coach. I just can't waste any available space.

Not much room under mine because of the outside access storage but we use it to keep 12 packs of soda and other small items.

Cut the fabric out and see what's under there. If it looks like usable space, then use it.
