Now I just have to learn to drive the thing.
I'm doing some early planning for retirement: got a t-shirt that says "I don't want to.... I don't have to.... You can't make me.... I'm retired!"
And a bumper sticker that says: I'm Retired - Go Around Me
I've taken the RV out twice (34 ft Chieftain), and I'm still having problems with left hand turns. My driving instructor told me not to start turning the wheel until the nose was past the yellow line, but when I do that I feel like I'm going to hit the ditch. I've had to back up more times that I'd like - fortunately with no traffic around. I can't even begin to imagine what driving with a toad will be like
The only logical solution is to point the thing east and drive until I hit the Atlantic, sell the rig and buy a new one pointing west.
Any advice on making turns more comfortable?

practice...practice...practice. try this. have someone stand on the corner where your right front corner will be as you make the turn. that person can use either hand signals or maybe get a pair of two-way radios to let you know where you are, how far from the corner you are, etc. the only way to become more comfortable driving the RV or making LH turns is to, well, drive the RV and make LH turns.

Go to a large empty parking lot.......drive up & down the lanes, pull into parking spots, back into parking spots, drive an imaginary obstacle course, make left hand turns (get out and check position so you can relate to where wheels are when in seat)............practice, practice.
As for the t-shirt.......got a few of those prior to retirement but they didn't fit at retirement. Used them for cleaning the RV

Aye! Just remember this favorite quote from Captain Ron!
Captain Ron: Ehh they will get out of are way learned that driving the Saratoga.
Just keep on heading out slow and steady, you will get the feel of it. And so what if you don't? YOU'RE RETIRED - No More Reviews!!!
Be safe, have fun, and toss some rum on the rocks!

That's 9/10'ths of the battle, that's for sure.
A couple of things to remember. You're sitting on the tip of the spear, not way back like in a car/truck, and the turning wheels are under your butt or may even behind it. Try to invision how it would turn, then go for it (slowly.)
