I have a Garmin nuvi 1450LMT about 10 months old. Its been used about a dozen times then stopped working. The plug in the back for the power went bad. I took in to a local repair shop and they said they couldn't get the part. Garmin wants $120 just to look at it. Anyone have any luck getting one repaired?

$120.00 to look at the problem is their way of telling you they'd rather sell you a new one than fix the old one. That's probably what I would do but I'd be looking at a different brand. If enough did that I'm betting the price to "take a look" at it would come down.

Call Garman back and tell them it is only 10 months old and should be under warrenty. If no satisfaction ask to talk to a supervisor. Warranty is 1 year. A note, if you bought it on VISA credit card, many don't know the warranty is doubled. Might be true of other Credit cards also. If the first call does not work, contact VISA if you used that card and invoke the extended warranty.

Garmin GPS devices have a 1-year warranty.
