Even though I am well under the tires, wheels and axle rating now, I was still under them with the stock wheels & tires too. I just wanted more "headroom" between my actual weight and the posted GAWR limits. Then it was about 800#, now is is way over that and I feel much better carrying that TC weight.

Air bags will work to correct the ride height and help carry the load on the Dodge. Adjustable L&R bags are also helpful if you camp at places where the sites are uneven. If you have fridge issues then leveling your camper is important. Adjustable air bags and a sway bar are the only suspension mods I have on an 06 SRW Dodge and I haul a 3200lb camper that rides great.
Wheels and tires are the weak link on the Dodge's. Look at the max weight rating in Kg or Lbs at the max psi, not just the 'E' classification on the tires. I asked a couple weeks ago about stock wheel ratings on these 3rd generation Dodge trucks and was told they were not stamped with a rating. American Racing makes some 17" wheels that are 3800lbs each, & Toyo, Hankook, & Nitto have 17" tires that are up & over those weights also. The stock tires are only 3,042lbs each. Not enough weight capacity for your camper.
I was at the garage and spoke with the truck mechanic there. They just cut out a used suspension out of a dump truck.
So.. we are going to install one leaf out of the dump truck suspension with the existing leaves that Dodge put in at the factory. so adding one leaf a side.
The leaf blades from Dodge are 3/8" thick. The truck leaf is 1/2" thick.
He says: try it ; it will drive more bumpy and hard, but will carry the load higher and I don't expect sway. For point of reference, Kevin has been doing heavy trucks for what seems like a lifetime.

Sounds like the BDS add-a-leaf kit I put on my half ton truck a long time ago
