We have an 09 Bighorn. We usually camp one week at a time. I drain the grey water daily, never have a problem. I drain and flush the black tank at the end of the week and have never had a problem until now. When I drain/flush the black tank now only part of the stuff comes out. I then drive home and after everything bounces around awhile I flush/drain at home then the balance comes out no problem. Do I need to flush more often while camping or is the black valve not opening all the way ? But if the valve is not opening completely then how come I can drain at home no problem ? Thanks for any input.

Sounds like maybe just the most recent times you have not had enough water in the black tank? Before you drain it, do you "top it off" with water?

Your black tank should be 3/4 full or more before you dump.
Topping off with water should solve your problem.

My thoughts were not enough water also. Also, don't drain it until you need to; the fuller it is, the better the draining action. I think most people also drain the grey tank AFTER the black tank, to help flush out the hose. Really no need to drain it everyday.

That is, unless your filling it up daily with showers and such...

I drain the black tank only 1X at the end of our stay but it sounds like there should be more water in the tank. Thanks

I agree with the others, not enough water. Do you have any new folks using your throne? I always tell folks using ours that aren't used to using a RV toilet, if you have paper with pee......flush 4 seconds, 7 seconds with poo. Someone using way too much TP can cause stock piling and problems too. I usually start my sewer flush a few seconds before pulling the lever on the black tank, unless it's way full. Hope this helps. rockin'

More water. I will fill mine to the top then dump, then I'll fill it up about half way and dump again. No problems.
On your valves, are they cable operated or do you have actual control of the valve. Mine are cable operated and there seems to be some play in mine that wasn't there before.
