We have an older automatic Winegard model RM-9946 satellite dish on our motorhome. It has recently started to show a message "motor stalled" on the control panel. It happens occasionally and i can usually just shut the unit off and then restart after about one minute. It usually works properly after this shutdown/restart.
I'm told the motor is beginning to fail. Has anyone had a simular problem and have your found a solution?

The problem might not be with the motor, but instead the associated gears and mechanical works that move the antenna. If you haven't taken this step, I'd suggest giving all the accessible mechanical stuff a good spray of silicone lubricant (or whatever type the manufacturer might recommend). There's a lot of corrosion, airborne dust and crud that will accumulate in there...
