Verizon, has the best service in Western Arizona from Lake Havasu City to Quartzsite IMHO. We could get very little reception in these areas with our phone company last year. Asked some locals in Parker,AZ. what phone company works best for everyone in this area and they told us Verizon. So we switched!
I have the VERIZON 4G "Mi-Fi". For the past 2 months. Before that, I had the 5G aircard. Both worked fine...the 4G was a "free upgrade to any of my wireless products"...they say up to 10 times faster (well......) but $10 cheaper than the 5G aircard.
IMO, the 5G aircard was fine...then 4G Wi-Fi is better. (and cheaper). VERIZON has the most coverage. There it is.
On a tangent, my first computer came with AOL. Stayed with AOL dialup...then the 5G aircard and is still my "homepage" with the "Mi-Fi". I got a notice from AOL that they are stopping the "My Favorites" feature as of Nov 15th.. Guess they only want the PAYING dialup customers on their servers. Kinda understandable, but it's like losing an old friend. Moved every thing (My Favorites) to IE. Guess in time, the AOL mail will stop, too.

What the heck is 5G ?
5G Technology stands for 5th Generation Mobile technology.
The "5G Aircard" is a internet connecting device that plugs into any USB port.
After installed....whenever you plug it in, it boots up and takes you to the "home page" of your choice.
Looks like a flash drive and is about as big (or small, depending on your point of view).
Wherever you can use your VERIZON cell phone...you can use this aircard....even on the go. When new, I experimented with it...when the wife was driving the motorhome on I-10 in Florida, I booted up the laptop, the aircard, and at 60mph I had uninterrupted internet.
The 5G really referrs to: you can use up to and including 5Gs worth of computer download per month. There is a chart telling you how much you can download per month with a 5G aircard. "What is 5Gs?" Something like 1 full length motion picture....33,000 e-mails, and so forth.
It worked for me....and I would still have it, except VERIZON offered me this "Mi-Fi" thing....faster and $10/month cheaper. Seeing it's a wi-fi thing, there is no limitation. So far...it works just fine. Even the signal is stronger. (=faster)
So in reality, you're talking about a 3G air card with a 5 Gig bandwidth limit.........
