I noticed many of you have a Kindle. What size and which one? My husband recently bought a smaller keyboard 3G from Amazon. Has anyone purchased a Fire or a touch screen? Do you prefer the larger or smaller Kindle?

We have two Knidles and one can buy any book imaginable (I think) from amazon. One nice thing is you can have up to three Kindles on one account. DW wife is waiting for her Kindle Fire.

Nobody has a Fire or a Kindle Touch yet.
I have the new $79 Kindle as well as an almost three-year old second generation Kindle (K2). Love both of them. One reason I bought the new Kindle is because it's smaller than my K2, and so a bit easier to fit into my purse.

Where do you purchase the ebooks? Are you tied to only Amazon or can you purchase from other sources?

I've never felt the need to buy from anywhere other than Amazon, but you can get books from lots of sites. Also, Kindles are now library compatible, so you can check out your local library's e-book collection.

Have had a Kindle ($139) since this past April. So far buy all my books from Amazon. Prices vary from $.99 on up. So far the DW doesn't want one even though I said I'd get her one for Christmas. Now she just complains about the Visa bill with Amazon purchases every month.

Waiting for my kindle Touch (on order), should be released on 11/21. No matter what you have or buy, download the "Calibre" software to manage your electronic book collection. First of all it is free and hands down the simplest/easiest to use. You can convert books from one format to another. Get together with your friends and download yours for theirs and soon you will have an extensive library. A group of boating friends who are cruising Mexico (and read as much as RVers), pooled their collections and gave me a download of 1691 current and classic titles. This should keep my lips moving for years.
