We were there in early 1995 and saw a large number of rock climbers. we also saw a coyote walk right through a flock of quails. The coyote must not have been hungry and the quails must have somehow sensed that because both coyote and quail ignored each other.

tvfrfireman wrote: thank you for sharing your handsome pictures. We are planning a trip there and are wondering about the difficulties in finding a spot for a 34 ft fifth wheel. Do you need reservations? Which campground suits bigger units? We are planning our time there in mid April. Thanks for any help from anyone. Dave
There are a number of spots to park an RV of that size. Get there early in the week and early in the day.

I have always enjoyed visiting Joshua Tree and your photos certainly complement the scenes there. Thank you for taking the time to post them and hope you will do more! You provided a great balance of TC, nature and people in your photos. I hope the “grump” that commented a few weeks ago, about Joshua Tree National Park, by saying; “skip Joshua Tree as there is nothing there to see” has his perception changed a bit.
Others have commented and some others might be thinking the same thing too, about your comments. You are an adult, and aware of the regulations and you can certainly make your own choices. I would add that I don’t agree with your comments in reference to domestic animals in National Parks and similar areas and your reasoning; “others were doing it.” Your comment supported an indication that these other visitors were sending a message to you, as your actions sent out a tacit impression to others that might have saw by your choices. Not all Rangers’ have authority to intercede in a learning opportunity with visitors.
Welcome to the forum! Love the Lance and good looking pups!

Point well taken.

Stopped at Joshua Tree last Wednesday, end of a four week 7,528 mile trip. Stayed at Jumbo Rock other camps were full.
This is the sunrise we woke up too, reddest sky I have ever seen.
