I am one like many who has decided NOT to cover my trailer.

Question: How easy is it to remove the A/C cover up top and clean out debris?

My TT is parked under a small tree that is losing its leaves pretty quickly. I will remove most of the leaves with a blower once they all fall, but I have to assume some are getting inside my A/C unit.

Should I be able to mitigate this problem?

There are four screws that hold the plastic cover in place. Remove those and lift the back up first, tilting slightly to the front and raise the cover off of the AC unit.
I would wait until all the leaves are done falling and just do the job once. Not hard at all.

Good luck

Yup, just a few screws, easy. Never had any leaves get in mine, but I guess a leaf blower might push some in. I've always found all the leaves that fall on mine are gone when we get to our first campground in the spring, LOL.

One point. If you have mud daubers where you live, hit cover lightly a few times with a broom and see if wasps come out. Have a strategic retreat planned first of course. I use broom from a step ladder so a fast exit is possible if needed.

The accumulated particulates on the fins will have far more impact than leaves that blow off. Just clean you exterior cooling coils/fins periodically. Regardless of leaves or an a/c cover.

If I have to go on roof to:
Install cover then back up to remove cover and do routine maint. OR
Do routine maint.----Remove shroud (4 screws)...clean debris.....check/clean evap fins (8 screws)......check/clean drains

I'd rather go up once and do the routine maintenance.....forget the cover

This is better. We don't bounce like we used to.

Pretty easy. Remove the screws and gently spray out fins.

4 whopping cylinders on Toyota RV's. Talk about great getting good MPG. Also I have a very light foot on the pedal. I followed some MPG advice on Livingpress.com and I now get 22 MPG! Not bad for a home on wheels.

Ain't that the truth

I've found out that I CAN still do what I use to do at 20 but it takes me a heck of a lot longer to recuperate
