I like Fidelity Smart Cash Account. The app allows you to make deposits using Iphone - no need to find bank for deposits. ATM fees are refunded when using most banks. Checking acct. is handy and cash is deposited at FDIC banks.

We bank on-line and use debit VISA card... Credit unions have been the best for us to use.

Can't agree with BOA being everywhere. I chase plant shutdowns and travel extensively. Work with many different companies and always do direct deposit but with some companies this doesn't happen on first or second check. Boa have been hundreds of miles from us at times. We eventually dropped them and went solely with our credit union, Houston Federal. With the cu network we haven't had an issue since. Might I add that once I had surgery and out of work 6 weeks. Income would not cover expenses and called boa about a small loan to carry us though this. Said no income no loan. HFCU was glad to help. Even offered deferred payment. I would have dropped boa years ago if I had known about the cu network.

THANKS FOR EVERYONE'S SUGGESTIONS. We appreciate the time that you took to give us advice. We were surprised at the number of people that mentioned credit unions. We went online and found a credit union in the area where we will be spending half a year. That credit union belongs to a NETWORK of ATMs. From the map on their web site, it looks like they have ATMs in many locations.

Thanks again for your input. It has been very helpful and has opened our eyes to the possibilities.

A Credit Union is the only way to go .
We use USAA and DCU and have never had a problem finding cash , plus the insurance on Our Van was $ 440 cheaper for More Coverage with USAA then the company We had previously here in Mass. We deposit any checks into USAA at a local UPS store ( Experimental Program ) and being 5 min. from a DCU branch helps too.

Use Bing or Google and do a search for "nationwide banks" and you will find banks and lists of nationwide banks. List of Nationwide Banks
