We (my mom, my daughter and I) just got our first-ever RV -- an R-Pod 172 -- though we've done tent-camping in the past. We slept in it one night in the backyard, trying things out, and then did an overnight at our local state park. Now we're ready to adventure out a bit further. I'm looking into the Spirit of the Suwanee campground near Live Oak, Florida - anyone have a review of the park they'd like to share? I've never been but the website (http://www.musicliveshere.com/content/index.php) is very inviting. It's only a couple of hours from our home. This trip will also be a 1 or 2 night stay as we get the hang of this RV-thing. Our challenge is to balance things the 7-year-old can enjoy with things the grandma can enjoy without driving the mama (me) crazy!
Happy camping!

I have been there and didn't like it. When busy, the crowd there tends to drink to much and act like buffoons. The state park down the street (Stephen Foster SP, pics in my photo link) is a much better option IMO.

X1000!!!! There are a bunch of drunks at the park and the kids will be out yelling and screaming until all ours of the morning. I will NEVER go there again! Stephen Foster is an extremely nice park as well as Suwannee River SP just down the road.

We spent several days there a few years ago during Halloween. The grounds and RV's were really decked out. Kids were having a great time. It is a hugh park and when there is a show, it can be "noisy" if you get what I mean. If you want quite, make sure no show is scheduled.
We stayed there free with ROD.
Well, I'll offer a different opinion. We were there about three years ago in Jan/Feb and found the place to be very nice. It was quiet, though during the music festivals they host and holiday times, folks said it got crazier. If you are a musician at all, they are real big on pickin/jammin get-togethers.
We FT, but don't get to FL often, but we'd go back in a heartbeat. Huge park with lots of hiking within boundaries. Kinda depends on what you're looking for.
On the other hand...we go there every year for the Waneefestival, and have a great time. It is what it is, a music festival, but a good one at that. We have expanded our group from just my wife and I, to 5 other couples, some with kids, and a good time is had by all.

Thanks for all the input. I think we're going to go, on a weekend that's not hosting a big music festival, and see how it suits us. I also have horses and enjoy trail-riding -- I won't take the horses this trip, but I saw that the park hosts rides from time to time.
I appreciate everyone's opinion! I've really enjoyed this site since I found it -- lots of good shared knowledge here and friendly folks.
