I just started using Escapees for mail service as sold Houston home and am now full=timing. Vehicle insurance for RV and Toad declined meaningfully. Won't need smog testing as not in Harris county.

\Your source is wrong. We have used the Escapees for our address since 2000. Livingston is not part of Houston nor is it considered to be by anyone that I have ever heard of. It is 74 miles from Houston and is two counties away. For some of us, insurance is less costly there than it would be in SD, if that had been a part of the question.

Strangely, it seems that many folks seem to think that everyone should choose the same location of domicile as they? I have no idea why that is since there are many factors that each should consider before they choose an place of domicile. This choice involves taxes, wills, medical directives, estate law, and a host of other factors, depending upon each person's situation. I am constantly amazed by how few things many people consider when making this choice.

Wherre is the insurance agent from? I think I would contact an agent from Livingston. I have been in TX all my life and never have seen Houston large enough to include Livingston in the Houston metro area.

Our insurance rates also lowered when we changed our address from Houston to Livingston.

I think sometimes we forget that the freedoms we have are freedoms not because of celebrities. The freedoms are because of ordinary people who did extraordinary things, who loved this country more than life itself.

Is there not a requirement for annual inspection in Texas? Do you not have to be there each year at the same time for that inspection?

Texas does require an annual inspection BUT if you are out of state, you don't have to get the inspection until you are back in Texas. I think the window is within ten days of coming back in state but not sure on that. I'd keep a receipt from the last campground before coming back in case you are checked.

Why would you find it strange? The two organizations are in no way competitive, they complement each other.

There are many who are members of both forums, as we are and a good share of those are also members of both clubs. There is frequent communication between the two clubs and they frequently work together on RV related things.

I think SD is quite a bit cheaper if that is an option for you?
