No worries. It is a law that is not understood by many. Thats why the commercial enforcement officer asked us, as he knew the overwhelming if not unanimous answer would be .04 at all times. I went many years thinking it was.

And how did you celebrate your new found knowledge?

I made sure to stop for a couple beers on the way home. In a non-commercial vehicle of course.

It makes it easy that my wife doesn't drink, so that way when we go out I can have a couple and not have to worry.

How does this California non-comm class A license stuff work if you're not a California resident/have an out of state license?

I'm a resident of, and possess an Arizona operator's license, with no additional endorsements, as I do not need any endorsements to drive personal vehicles that are not used for commercial purposes.

I'm aware that one must follow the laws of whatever state we have to be in, in regards to speed limits and what not, but would I also need to get a California endorsement in these situations?

I have NEVER heard of a LEO busting anyone for a license violation,
I HAVE heard of them nailing people for "Over length" pulling doubles coming in from Nevada going to Dumont. I would bet that these poeple don't have a Commercial class "A" license to pull doubles, and I guarantee they don't have an "over length" permit. They get them for an easy to enforce violation, so make sure you don't give them reason to cite you.
