We are in Mission,TX and the wind came up yesterday then started with the gusts.I'm glad we are parked and I would hate pulling in this wind.

Same here at Harlingen,TX.We just relax and let the wind rock us to sleep.Just check that your outside things are secure so they won't end up down the street somewhere.

Given the amount of dirt & material in the air when we were flipped on I80, my estimate, from hurricane experience, is that something like a 70mph hit us broadside.
Interesting flip formula provided by the oldman.
When sitting inside my feeling is that the motion feels much worse than it actually is.
Fillup the water tank, to lower center of gravity. Retract slide on the leward side of the trailer. Leave the windward side slide out. This gives the same weight shift effect of sailors hiking out on the windward side of a sailboat.
Close your eyes & let the motion put you to sleep. It is as close to boating as an RVer will get.

I never leave my awning out at night or if I am away from the RV and always bring it in should there be wind.
Glad to read all the comments and personal experiences as there does not seem to be a definitive rule of thumb regarding the wind and RV tipping.

Well, not 100 mph wind, but I got stuck in what the newspaper later said to be 80 t0 85 mph.....didn't go so well, southbound wind on a eastbound freeway.

To the OP in Port Aransas, we got some very unusual 80 mph straight line winds with a cold front last January. A few RVs (one or two of them fivers) were flipped over at the Naval Air Station in Corpus Christi. That is right out on the water with nothing to slow the wind.
I would attach the truck if the rocking was bothersome. Ought to steady it some.

No, it didn't buff out.... Only injuries was my pride and my wallet. Hitch pulled apart and let the trailer go, just trashed the bed of the truck.

A few years ago there were some very strong winds in the Yuma, AZ area. I arrived at a campsite in Wellton a little later and found one fiver had been pushed off the blocks under the front landing jacks (at least it didn't flip over). Don't know if the jacks were damaged but the fall probably didn't do them much good because the blocks were pretty tall. Lesson learned: don't put very tall blocks under the landing jacks. The smaller the blocks, the less potential for damage to the jacks should they be pushed off by wind.
