My set up:
Clear see through plastic elbow with a garden hose connection connection/with valve at the top of the elbow. This elbow connects to the outlet at the trailer valve. The clear plastic lets you see when the dump is complete.
I attach a ten foot garden hose to the connection (if a fresh water source is available which normally is), and then use it to flush the tank. Once you see the water run clear, (through the clear plastic elbow) you know the job is done.
I also use a plastic 90 degree elbow with a doughnut at the sewer end.
I also keep a spare ten foot section of flex sewer pipe, (with connectors on each end) for when I need a long run.

I use a "slinky" or whatever you call it to get a good gradient if I am set up for an extended stay, (like fourteen days)

This set up has served me well in the ten years we have been RV'ing

A plain inexpensive hose works for me. If you're interested, you could build your own Macerator Pump.

Depends upon the type of use. I have a Sani-Con macerator system that I really prefer when we're traveling; no fuss, no mess. When we're sitting at our seasonal for 3-4 weeks at a time, I prefer a simple traditional sewer hose on a support cradle.

I use a clear connection into the 15' Rhino Kit I bought 5 years ago and have never had a problem other than I just replaced the gasket at the sewer elbow end. The gaskets are available at Camping World for a couple of bucks.

I agree with Jack L. The 45-degree clear elbow with a backflow port is one of the best purchases I ever made. I also agree with the posts that you pay a little more for quality of the slinky. True, my stuff doesn't need to travel in luxury, but once captured, I don't want it loose again.

I don't fully understand 2oldman's comment, dry camping to me means, no water, no sewer, so how would a macerator help. I decided to use a Sewer Solution because some of our local campgrounds don't have on site sewer and the lines at the dump stations get really long and I hate sitting there waiting while some Dude polishes and sanitises his slinky. I installed a cleanout in my waste line at the S&B and it is at least a 12" rise over to the cleanout and the SS "will" cause S### to flow uphill. We just returned from a 10 week, 13,000 mile trip and The only water I needed to use to flush was to clean out the line from the dump valve outward. I don't dump every time we move or everyday and everything seems to get broken up well enough to flow through the 1" hose to the sewer. We do take short trips and if there is a problem with things breaking up, I jet it out with the SS. We use standard two ply toilet paper from Costco and when we run out, we buy Northern Quilted two ply.

For our situation I like our SS, but, if I had to pick somethig else I'd pick the 3" slinky system with a elbow and a hose connection for flushing.

Wrong, wrong, wrong !
I have been in numerous state parks where some "expert" camp host do it yourself " plumbers" have installed cold on the left and hot on the right.
Irks the heck out of me, since I have built three houses myself from the ground up.

When I bought my house all the faucets had cold on the left. They also had all the light switches backwards. Up was off, down was on. I'd still like to find the guy that did that.
