Quote: The solution is to hold the on-off switch for 30 seconds. It worked, once you know what to do in this situation. It looks like a common problem for the 1xxx, 2xxx and 3xxx series.
Have you plugged into your computer and done any software updates?

Might work to pull the battery out and put it back in to reboot.

When my Garmin would not calculate a trip, "Help" said it needed to be recalibrated. The process was to turn it off, turn it back on, but hold it in the on position for 30 seconds and then follow directions that come up on the screen. After that, it worked fine.

Have you tried doing a hard reset?
IIRC for the 2460, with the unit off, hold the right lower corner of the screen while powering on. That will give you the hard reset screen.

It won't let you do a hard reset? Hmmmmm.
Try holding the upper left corner of the screen while turning it on. See if that will do it.
