i would upgrade to 1 ton. Would you have trouble with the 3/4 ton probably not but i personally would not chance breaking a leaf spring and hurting myself or family. 1 ton will not limit what toy hauler you can purchase. 3/4 ton I would stay 34' or less for sure due to payload. Towing it will not be an issue, weight in the bed of the truck will be the only issue i would care about. All the engines out there have plenty of power.

Thanks for the input, This truck was bought used and was originally set up by the previous owner to haul a 5th wheel. There are 4 existing bolt holes in the bed and I found the pig tail stuffed down between the bed and cab.

Talking about Fuzion's, I saw this one on Craigslist
FUZION TOURING EDITION and love the Touring Edition upgrades...like the granite and washer/dryer hookups. Those are nice options for a full timer. This one was a good price, that is why I am posting it.
Good luck on your search, toy haulers are such a great option. We haul our RZR all over the USA....retired and riding the trails....

We have the Voltage 3200 and it is well within the capabilities of your truck. Pin is around 25-2600 loaded

All this talk of upgrading your truck is just that- talk.
Your current truck is more than capable of hauling the size trailer you are interested in purchasing.
If you buy a new truck, a one ton would be great but you certainly don't need a dually and frankly a new 3/4 ton with the higher GVWR/GCWR they now come with would be more than acceptable/capable of hauling that size trailer.
Some of the folks on here blast anyone who hauls a trailer that falls within 20% of a trucks published limits-

Thanks Fly boy well I have a 2002 GMC D/A,CC/SB 4WD Pick up. I went down to a heavy duty truck service. They told me they could add 1 or 2 leafs which will boost my carrying capacity. They told me to bring the rig down when I get it and they could better tell what I will need when it squats. I already have the motor pushing 400 hp for that extra kick in the ass if I need it. I will go down in the size of the trailer if I have to becasue I have the truck set up exactly the way I want it and I can't afford both right now. Thanks Again for your input

Paul I had the 08 heavy 2500 and purchased an 06 Raptor, picked it up in Tenn. 1st good hill I had it foored and was doing 15MPH by the time I got to the top of the hill, and I had just purchased this truck and was told no problem pulling the trl. BS, made it as far as Joplin Mo and picked up a D3500 dually never looked back. Just stating what happened to me.
Good luck

kaydeejay wrote: Not many toy-haulers are within the capability of your truck so an upgrade to a 1-ton is probably needed. Your current truck (if it's 4WD) may only have 2100# payload available for EVERYTHING. That's people, stuff, hitch, fuel AND trailer pin.
Spec out the trailer you like before you decide if you need a SRW or dually. T/H'ers tend to have very heavy pin weights, some even more so when empty.
Truck payload capacity, not so much trailer weight, will be your challenge!

Must have been a gasser, cause the diesel in the 2500 and the 3500 dually are the same.
