I have never seen the need to drive a nail into a tree. If we are going to have several days of rain and we do need a tarp we will use a rachet strap loose around the tree and pull it tight with a bungee cord, if the wind picks up and the strap chaffes the tree we pull it all down and sit in the camper.

Another common violation of park rules that is ignored is that a dog should not be tied up outside the RV UNATTENDED. There are a number of people in every CG who keep their dogs outside all day, and practically all night, on a 25 foot rope, while they are inside. They do bring the dogs in if they leave. So I guess for them attended means as long as you are at home.

Now, to their credit, these are usually quiet dogs that don't bother anybody. So maybe, no harm, no foul.

But I always figured unattended means anytime you are not physically outside with the dog. If the dog gets free and you are inside, how are you going to know? Plus, in Florida, with the ants, fleas, and ticks, leaving a dog outside on the grass and under trees all day does not seem like a good idea on its face.

Just a little more ranting.

Pat in Speedway - No matter how much I enlarge the picture, I can't find the nails. I only see a rope.

And that can't be Dasher. There are no antlers. Maybe it is Dashers girlfriend. But it is nice of you to memorialize her passing with this picture.

A number of years ago some eco-terrorists were pounding bridge spikes into trees that were on a list to be cut down for lumber.
