I just took out the Starlight/Galaxy to replace it with a Bravura, which Thetford said was the direct replacement. I don't know if they were wrong or the previous owner did something, but the bolts and holes don't line up. For the Bravura, the bolts go at 3 and 9, but the flange does not have a place for bolts there.
Do I unscrew the flange and rotate it? Or do I need to exchange the toilet?
Should be direct replacement.....but if Galaxy was bolted down using existing bolt hole location I don't see how, unless previous owner changed the original floor flange.
Can't tell from picture...is floor flange threaded onto down pipe?
If it is you could remove the screws and rotate then re-screw flange down...just use some caulking on old holes and any new ones due to relocation of flange
Very cool, glad you got it in. I have installed four of those models and I really like them. One tip I read here was to wax it with car wax when it is new (yes, the bowl, lid, seat, everything) to keep anything from sticking and never use an abrasive to clean it. I just use some of that spray foam stuff for a cleaner and mine stayed looking brand new for several years. My wife says not to wax the flush pedal though because it makes it too slippery
Is your Bathroom Flooring the original ? If not the last owner might have re-positioned the Flange. Not a big deal anyways. Just position the Flange to where it will work for you. Good idea also to seal any old holes so mositure can't do any damage. You'll enjoy the New Toilet. We had the same old toilet you did, and we replaced it with a Bravura also. Good Luck.
