Considering buying a Coachmen Encounter, and had a couple of questions. 1. There is 50 amp plug "in", next to the 50 amp outgoing power cord. What is that for?
2. Is the 5.5 Onan largest enough to handle two 13500 AC units and other household items?
3 How is power of the V10 on the F 22 Chassis, and over all MPG with gen off?
I currently have a Class C with V10, and power not an issue, but 8k lbs lighter.
Thanks

The 50A plugin is for the plug when you are running the generator. You most likely do not have an automatic transfer switch and have to do it manually. I could run 2 ACs on my 4000 Watt generator on my previous Pace Arrow but don't add the microwave with only 4000 watts. On my current 6.5K I don't have a problem running anything. You will probably have a different rear end ratio to give equal power on the extra 8K pounds. Many times MPG doesn't change much if you continue driving the same way.

I just bought a 2011 encounter ,no problem to run the two air conditioners off the generator.Power wise I can't really compare because it's my first MH but I have driven trucks and find the v-10 powerful enough for my needs.
I've gotten between 6.6 mpg in high winds and hilly roads to 8.9 mpg I will be installing ride right air bags next week and will post again.
