I disagree, you buy from a local dealer, and in most cases, he will get you in a lot sooner than some generic repair shop. A lot of places don't even want to do warranty work, and are not going to make you a priority.
I don't think too many dealers will be in business long adopting the attitude that just because you may not purchase another Class B for 5 years, that there not going to give you good service. Also they are hoping to get your business after the warranty is up.
Roadtrek will authorize repairs if a dealer is not within 50 miles.
I said it another post, Roadtrek dealers are factory trained to repair Roadtreks, as are other brands like PW, so that is another benefit of buying from a local B dealer.
I don't think Roadtrek, or PleasurWay will be going out of business any time soon, they are two of the more stable RV manufactures, so your statement about that doesn't hold water either.

Not sure buying an RV locally really gets you ... Most RV dealers are even worse that auto dealers about after-sales service. Once you've signed on the dotted line they know they're probably not going to sell you anything for 5 years or more, so why waste time catering to you? ".

I disagree. We quite often see repeat customers in 3, 2 and even 1 year

Alaska is next! Still trying to fit the pontoons to the RV so We can get to Hawaii!

I called a local dealer that wanted 125K for on till I told him they are all over the NET for 99K, he said OK, we can do that.

I never saved 26K in one minute before.

Take your time and travel to where you can get the best deal.

Most RV dealerships are feeling the pinch in this economy, and getting service will not be a problem. Best of luck in your search.
