The lists would be much shorter if the OP's question was "What don't you just love about a Truck Campers"!

To the guy that can get his 5th Wheel into 90% of the places truck ca,pers can go...... Hmmmmmm really....... Last summer I drove up into the mountains in Ouray, Colorado, I'd pay to see a 5th wheel in the mountains of Ouray!
#1 when someone who has never been in a tc before comes in,looks around see,s whats inside and says ,wow!I like to remind them that they are standing in the back of a pick up truck, kind of hits home when you think about it...
1)We like to boondock and we can get to places we couldn't think of taking the 5th wheel. As somebody pointed out, you can take other RV's most places, but it's that 10-20% remaining is where we wanted to go.
2)It's easier to drive. Wife wouldn't never drive anything that is towing something. The TC is just like driving the truck.
3)Even if you don't boondock, there were state/national parks that we couldn't get our 30' 5th wheel into.
4)No longer have issues pulling into fuel stations or tight parking lots.
5)It's just the wife and I. The smaller TC is just easier.
Capeman, think about it, I DO go most places I used to with my tc, a truck camper is 12 feet tall, 8 feet wide, my 244 cougar fifth is 12 feet, and 8 feet respectively, 25 feet long. I've not been in your part of the world, but where I live, you can camp anywhere in the bush you desire, hundreds of lakes to camp on shore with goat trail roads to get into. Most tc owners gotta pull a trailer to haul the boat or atv, or go without. That also means turning around in limited space, something I've become very good at, sometimes the chain saw has been a welcome addition to the trip, never leave home without it. A good quality car wax fixes most of the scratches, some are just war wounds, but, believe me, our fifth is and has always been used to go fishing with, this one is only five years old, got more forest service campsites left in her yet. Not knocking choice, I've had both, probably gonna pick up an 8 foot camper to get into two or three local lakes I can't make one corner with my fifth to get into.
However, never say never, Gary Haupt takes his class c into some rugged places, I'm sure there are those who'd say not, but he'll prove you wrong. To each his own, we all have our preferences.

When I'm lying in the overhead and looking at the full length of the camper I still have a hard time wrapping my mind around the fact that it's in the bed of my truck. It's kind of an optical illusion.

So many people that have come to look at the Avion under construction have the same response "Wow, it doesn't look this big from the outside!" Especially since it is sitting on a CCSB PU.
