I know I can count on some of you experienced Florida Campers to help me. We're thinking of spending a couple of days at Ft. Clinch State Park this winter. We have a 35 foot fifth wheel and usually try to find sites 45+ feet long. The only sites available for the dates we want are 40 feet long. Is there room to park the truck on a 40 foot site there? Are there overhanging trees that would make it difficult to get to the site?
Stopped by in Oct. Lot of overhanging canopies on way in to camping spots. Ocean front was closed for construction of handicapped access improvements. There are many large backin spots around the circle. Saw many large rigs in there during my stay so would think you should be ok. Would check to see if they have openings before driving there tho.
I love Fort Clinch but you need to make reservations way out I have one for this coming week end and another in January. I've already made 2 for next October. The large sites are very wide so you should not have any problems. Good luck getting in on short notice but you never know sometimes people cancel. If you get in you will see why it stays booked up.
