Here is how to insert a picture that is already in a Picasa web album into a post on the forum. I am assuming that you have two windows (or tabs) open. In one your have opened the forums new message window to start your post. The other should be in your Picasa web album.

  • In the Picasa web album, click on the picture you want to post.

  • A window opens that contains the picture as a thumbnail. Click on this picture.

  • On the right side of the new window, click on Link to this Photo.

  • Select the size. If the image is wider than 640 pixels, select Medium-640 640 px

  • Select Image only (no link)

  • Click on the Embedded Image URL and copy it.

  • Move to the window or tab that has the forum's message window. Enter whatever message you want before the picture. When you are ready to insert the picture, hit the Enter (or Return) key. Generally, pictures should be inserted on a new line.

  • Click on the message window's Image tool,

  • When the Image tool window opens, paste the URL copied from your Picasa album into the top field.

  • Leave the other fields blank and click on the Finished button.

  • Finish your post and click on the Post Message button.

Your attempt has too many img tags and needs a width=640 parameter. If you quote this post, you can see the proper syntax.

The problem probably arrises from the using the directions for hosting on Picasa, when the picture is actually on Photobuckec.Com

If you are going to use Photobucket.Com, you should see this tutorial.

Posting Pictures Using Photobucket.Com For The Host Site.

Here's mine:

Edit... Thanks for the tutorial on that! I've been doing it manually - this will be easier!

1mtnman,

The Photobucket tutorial states:

If your picture is more than 640 pixels wide, copy the Direct Link URL.

Open the message windows Image tool,

Paste the Direct Link into the URL field and enter 640 in the Width field. Leave the Height field blank; the display engine will adjust the height to keep the dimensions in proportion.

You are using the IMG Code, which cannot be used with the forum's Image tool. If the picture is not larger than 640 pixels wide, then you can use the IMG Code and paste it directly into the post. In this case you would not use the message window's Image tool.
