The only reason I have considered a solar panel is that to tow the car I have to leave the key turned to the first position so the steering wheel is not locked. Therefore the only power draw is the same as leaving the key on while it is parked. After 7.5 years with the same car I have found that the batteries last a little over 3.5 year instead of the typical 5 years. The solar panel thought is to get a more typical 5 years out of a battery. I just wondered if there were others out there who were using a solar panel in their toad.
Guess the panel would work for that need.....since it's not really drawing down.
Some folks have installed a toggle switch that will cut off the breaker at the ACC connection, which would allow you to switch the key to ACC (free up the steering wheel) yet leave power to things like brake lights....though I guess they are powered by the RV.
Anyway, you could pull the fuse first, to see if it helps....and then install a switch to make it easier later on.
