Anyone ordered a new bible on-line? Any recommendations? To clarify, I'm looking for a place to order them from. Thanks

Amazon.com carries pretty much any version you might want in soft cover, hardcover, or Kindle editions.

Thanks, Dutch. I had thought of that, but was curious if anyone had a specialty store they had used before. I'll give them a look.

It depends on which version you want. There are all kinds of versions of that book from a nascar one to king james to you name it.

Not sure why it would would matter which version I was interested in? Wouldn't a reputable site carry them all?

Depends on the type of Bible, traditionally, given my background, I go by the Catholic Bibles that have a vatican approval on them.

They're usually 6-8" thick and weigh about a 100lbs .

Do a google for "Catholic family bible" if you want a really nice one, or a "St. Joseph Catholic Bible".

Those will be the most complete, least edited version.

Beyond that, Look for Stores like Loaves & Fishes (Gone, sadly), there's a number of major Christian store chains that carry a wide selection.

Also, one can always pick up one at a number of Abbeys through out the US.

Have you considered getting a Bible program for your computer? One, e-Sword, is a free program that has dozens of versions available, many free. The program is capable of displaying several versions side by side on screen. It also has integrated study guides, dictionary, search features, etc.

Bibles are fairly easy to find if you aren't particular about the version. I always keep a couple in my truck to give anyone that wants one. I find them for a song on bookstore bargain tables (usually the King James version). Used book stores usually have a few copies of the more popular versions in pretty good condition.

Amazon.com is good if you don't want to do a bunch of looking around in bookstores, etc.

One of the more recent translations with 100's of translators is the ESV English Standard Version. It is totally redone with the recent 1947 documents included.

If you have the money then go with Logos and all of what they offer. Just Google LOGOS.

If you need an online Bible, try The Blueletter Bible. It has all the versions plus commendaries and study guides, dictionary, etc.
I just got one simply called "Bible" for my cell phone. Great for reading on a daily basis.
I also just bought a beautiful NKJV (New King James) Women's Study Bible as a Christmas gift from Amazon. Leather bonded with silver-edged pages; a 2-tone burgundy/beige. I spent $50 for it and shipping was free since I spent over $35.
I do all my shopping on Amazon mostly. I'm disabled and I feel so blessed to be able to use this site. No, I don't own stock... LOL
Blessings!

I should have been more speciifc. I want to get the DW a new one for Christmas. One she can take to church. Thanks though for the suggestions on the on-lines one though. They look interesting. We don't have a real good bible store in our area so I thought perhaps someone could point me in the right direction as to ordering on-line.
