Went to Lowes yesterday to check out the flooring. Our camper has cherry interior so we were looking at cherry flooring. Looked at all kinds and picked out a laminate we liked 7 mm thick. We were going to order it and the sales clerk said we have this at close out, original price was $29.00 a box (we needed 3 boxes) she said if we took all 4 boxes would mark it down to $5.00 a box and it was cherry. So we will be putting in laminate. Also bought a cabinet to mount on the wall over the bar. Toyhauler inside storage is lacking, but does keep the amount of stuff down. Now just a lot of work. will post pics when done. Thanks for all the input this a great place to visit and learn. George

The laminate will work just fine for you, and a lot of folks use it. Be sure to post some pics when you get the job done!

We did the Allure in our Class C this fall. Haven't really seen how it wears yet but it looks really good!

I did both the dining area on my slide & my kitchen floor. The slide carpet came up much easier the the flooring in the kitchen area as spray glue was under the carpet & contact cement type glue was used in the kitchen area...I have flush floor slide-outs & didn't want that foot wide strip of carpeting continue running the full length of the slide out...so I spent a couple of days playing with laminate pieces(as in two pieces that would be glued to the kitchen floor & two pieces that would be glued to the slide out floor) until I got them where they were just right where they close enough together but didn't jammed on each other when the slide moved...that was the most time consuming part...once past that everything went down in a half of a day.
Two boards to the right of the darker wood table leg is the slides out's edge...after that starts the kitchen floor.
Would absolutely do it again, & would recommend to anybody...
Dog hates it tho...as he can only run straight across it...no turns...lol.

The quickest way to describe the install, where the slide flooring meets the kitchen flooring, is like putting two fingers pointing at each other with the finger nails barely touching. The slide out laminate's leading edge received a 45 degree cut in one direction & the kitchen floors edge received a 45 degree cut in the other direction, again...just like how your fingers fall away from each other...& what your looking at is just the top edges(like the finger nails) almost touching...the gap is too small to see...it took hours to assure same outcome every time the slide stops in position...but the final look was certainly worth it...
...Merry Christmas...

Excellent idea JC.JC one more question a 6mm or 8mm laminate wood floor will be OK to replace the carpet? The thickness of the wood will not interfere with the slide out?

I used Swift Lock Plus & it was a high gloss(plus part) natural oak from Lowes...& is 7mm in thickness. As far as transition of the slide onto the the flooring...I just cut small pieces of the laminate & put them under the top edge of the ramp the slide out rollers use to "climb" to floor level when they come in...wanted to make sure the rollers were truly @ floor level before rolling across the kitchen floor...that said...I own an AutoMate 5th wheel...& they were know for doing things a little different...& this is what worked for me...but no Buc...no interference in my install w/7mm & I think the rollers would handle an 1/8 inch difference between ramp & floor if, let's say, you couldn't get to the top of the ramps to modify them....long winded way of saying 8mm would just fine to use also.

And by the way...AutoMate is back in business...only building one travel trailer right now...But they say 5th wheels are in the plans soon..& highly custom at that...FYI..
