No I don't , I don't think it is cost effective for improving mileage and I don't know if I need it to keep engine clean or ??? But i haven't done any real homework on fuel additives for diesels so I know very little about them.

Don't know about Ford.......but my Owners Manual for my RAM states not required.

Check your manual for Ford recommendation.

I think it is a personal choice really. Some people use them, some don't. I fall in the Don't Category.......MFG. doesn't require (not that they don't recommend it) just state it's not required.

I add Power Service Diesel Kleen at every fill-up. It raises cetane and helps to keep the fuel system lubricated & clean. With diesel over $4/gal, simple math proves that the Diesel Kleen more than pays for itself in increased fuel efficiency.
I also use TCW-3 oil in my '05 Ram, but but I would NOT use it in an engine that was designed to be run on ULSD (like your friend's 2010 F450)

We use Diesel Kleen in our tank at work. We had some problems with turbo and EGR sooting on our '04 F-550's. We discussed it with Ford, and one of our issues was that they recommend a minimum cetane level of 41. ULSD is delivered with a minimum cetane level of 39. Since we have been adding Diesel Kleen on every bulk delivery, we have not had to have a repair. We did do some other things too, so it's not just that.

Why would you NOT use TCW-3 in a newer diesel ? USLD is lacking lubrication from everything I have read .

I used Standyne in my 86 6.9 Ford diesel, used Stanadyne in three of my 7.3 and also in my one 6.0,( which by the way was one excellent truck) and am now using it in my new 6.7.. It addes lubricicty and also cetane to your fuel system. Some may say it is snake oil but I will continue to use it at every fill up!!!!! T-10
