In the mid-1960's: 15-foot Scotsman TT (icebox, hand pump for water, no bathroom, propane light). Went all over the US with two pre-schoolers, towing with a 1960 Ford 6-cylinder stick shift sedan. Gas was 25 cents a gallon then.
1953 Ford converted 37 pax school bus. Purchased for $2000 when I returned from Viet Nam in '72. Lived in it in the barracks parking lot for six months with the 1st Shirt's approval. Double bed, heater, w/h, cassette toilet, two burner stove, 30 lb propane, 40 gal fresh water, and a small 4' tub. Married 1st wife and had to unload it when I got transferred to CA.
My dream at that time was that awesome 1973 Dodge Discover 23 with its Space Shuttle nose. But that never happened.
I think that is the same grill I had on my '65 Dodge Coronet
Nothing else until 2002. 1999 Coachmen Mirada.
Now 2004 Cross Country.
The rest is history.

Wow! Takes me back way too far. How about a dirty dozen?
The absolutely first "RV" I've owned would have to be a car with a very, very large, home built plywood box on top holding 85% of the camping gear used to travel around Europe with 2 babies. 1970 - 1973
And I know you just asked for the 1st, but allow me to continue...
2. An AlpenKreuser 1973 - 1976(look it up on the internet...website still exists even though production stopped many years ago) purchased in Holland and subsequently shipped back to the US. There was a thread here on rv.net but from the pictures I don't think it was a true Kreuzer.
3. Actually bought a VW camper here in US 1974 - 1976 and towed #2
4. Military Deuce (1977 - 1981) Well I didn't really own that one but did a lot of "camping" outside the US during this time frame. Just was always without DW and kids.
5. Bought a brand new Starcraft PUP w/shower. 1982 - 1984 I was very tired at not being able to take a shower back then. It was stolen a year and a half later.
6. VW camper again. 1984- 1988 Took it to Korea!
7. 25' Starcraft TT 1989 - 1992 we took to Alaska with 3 babies (different DW at that time)
8. Class C 1994 - 2000
9. Class A 2001 - 2004
10. 30' Jayco TT 2005 - 2006
11. Mobile suite full timing 2006 - 2009(had to sell due serious medical problems with DW)
12. Single again and back to full timing in a Salem 20FB...Man Cave on wheels! 2011 ~ ?
I suppose if you count the VW as a class B, I've had everything except a slide in camper!
Our first RV was a C Class Corsair 1995( I think), next came a brand new 2010 Artic Fox TC and now we have a Nash Travel Trailer. TC was nice but not enought room to bring dog along and not the best for getting out of at night, so that is why we went to TT.
1972 Golden Falcon 18 ft. Lime green curtains and orange shag rug. I was waiting for the BeeGees to show up any time. Only had it a short time. It is now still a bunky at my SIL wilderness property.
First RV was a 1977 GMC Jimmy, which I built a bunk platform in the back, to sleep on, and stored my camping supplies and stuff under it. I used it for camping on the beach...a poor man's TC
First actual RV, was a P'Up that we bought in 1986, but I don't remember the make.....a week after buying it, DW read about some child being kidnapped out of a camper, and we never used it...other than in the backyard!! She feels safer in our current MH.
