I bought my stat from Home Depot about five years ago. I looked at several, typically from $20 to $80. Mine cost $40. Most have the instructions to install in a RV. My furnace is in my 1988 Bigfoot. It took longer to read the instructions than it did for the install.

2oldman X 2, plus:

I changed two of my "F" keys; one to indicate degree and the other to insert a telephone icon. Both changes didn't seem to interfere with the way I use my computer but I was selective about the keys I chose to change.

One thing about using a residential stat, you will need to add a switch to keep the two speed fan operation for your AC.

The suburban DD Series of Furnaces (Ductless) has no speed setting, she's a relic from the early 90s when the last owner before me replaced the original death-o-matic Duo Therm unit from the 70s that was originally in there (They had problems with plenum cracks and exhaust gas leaks).

So, the furnace is either in one of two states, off, or Roaring .

My A/C Unit is a household window unit that I modified into a permanent mount on the rear wall of the camper that has its own onboard thermostat and fan speed controls.

Just bought a Honeywell model RTH221B one week programable thermostat with 5 buttons in the front, etc. Needs 2 AAA batteries. Don't need programs only the function of simple unit. Paid $19 at HD. Called Honeyweel before opening package and tech told me all of them work on 22 volts???? Will it work?

Just beware that some digital t-stats have a minimum operating temperature. My honeywell does not work below 32d. If your camper is below 32d you have to warm the faceplate (in my- um, no I mean your jacket) so as it falls below your set point it turns the furnace on, and then I- I mean you, use the curtains to duct warm air to t-stat to keep it from dropping through 32d again. Don't worry, you figure that part out.
It is more consistent than the mechanical when it's going.

I have decided to chuck this idea and keep the old slider one. First I don't have the battery power to sustain a constant temperture within one degree. My rig is a pop up. Second I live in Az so for the most part it is hot. I haven't used the rig in cold weather much. Third I plumbed the unit for a catalytic propane heater which has a thermostat already. A new thermo would be worth more than the camper. Last, too lazy!

I also will stay with the mechanical Suburban thermostat, it works just fine and no batteries needed

The stat in our SnowRiver died about 2 months ago. It was a CTS programable day/night, 7 day w/batteries. Never really liked it. Replaced it with White Rodgers 1E78-140 from Pex Supply.com for $24. It's a digital stat with back light. simple to install and simple to use. A true KISS unit.
