Well, I suspect their first reaction will be the same as mine: uncontrollable laughter!

Why do you guys think this is funny? The OP is asking for help. Never mind, you probably laugh at traffic accidents too! Could happen to anyone and this is not an uncommon thing.

I think it's funny because I have done it! I lost the tube from a WD40 can into a $10,000 bus engine!

OK Jarlaxle you can laugh. I poured oil into our Honda and didn't twist off the ring along with the cap on the plastic bottle. Now it's floating somewhere in the upper head with the valves. We've all probably done something like that. Hope some on the forum learn from the mistakes we have made.

I posted the link with the flexible grab from Harbor freight for only a few bucks a few post back, and no comments on sticking it in there to grab it. I have one of these and they work.

I have a flexible grab tool and tried it. It seems to hit the back of the intake and doesn't pick it up. I think it may have gone down towards the bottom and the grab tool won't make the turn.

Spoke to Onan. Said to remove fuel line and 2 carb bolts, then slide out carb. Grab tube with tweezers. Take photos of linkage prior incase I have to remove it.
If left in, tube will melt or soften enough to move to valve and will be costly in labor to clean up.

Took the carb out and looked inside the intake manifold with a mirror, "NOTHING"!!
It must have come off and got sucked into the engine cooling fans then. It's all back together and running fine. I did tear the gasket between the air filter housing and the carb removing it. Luckily, a local RV dealer had the gasket in stock and it went back easy.
Lesson learned, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it".
Case closed.

Honestly, I would have left it. At worst case, the straw would have gotten hot, softened, turned to goo, and stuck to the intake valve. The *might* disrupt the airflow into the engine ever-so-slightly, but I highly doubt it would be enough to affect its performance.
Even if it did go down the throat, and did soften, bend, or flex to the point that it slipped into the open valve on the intake stroke and got stuck there, one crank revolution and back-fire later, it would have at the very least succeeded in melting what was left of the straw and blown it back out of the intake. Again, not exactly a crisis.
I suspect it either gulped it down and blew it out the stack, or it never went in there in the first place. I've blown them off before and found them clear across the garage. WD-40 has done it right with their new double-tipped cans!

Spoke with a small engine mechanic. Tube would never make it past the carb and make it into the manifold. Had to have gone elsewhere.
Runs great! I am not concerned anymore.
