My Splendides uses about 16 gals of water (as best as I could calculate). It dries in about 30 minutes. When I take the clothes out they are almost to hot to handle.

I think the main thing is to keep the loads small. The book says 6 lbs. dry.

Ours doesn't shake at all. We have air bags for leveling, so that may make a difference.

Absolutely! It makes a huge difference, especially for Jeans and shirts which would otherwise wrinkle easily. Sounds strange, but works!

Ok, so we have decided to take the combo unit out and use that area for storage.

Has anyone ever removed these? It appears to be 25" wide. I think I can get it out of the bathroom and down the hall. My entry door, even if removing the screen doors is only 24"

Any ideas? I don't wan't to destroy it.

DW bought several pair of the "old" pants stretcher by mail order (place in OHIO). Air Drys the jeans and pants with a nice sharp crease.

Also try just having the clothes damp dry and hang on a hanger to finish drying.

We bought our MH used and would not have considered having a w/d. DW tells me that the next unit WILL have one.

We have found that if we dry towels too completely, they will have a bit of a "toasted" smell to them. We try to get them out with just a tiny bit of dampness left and let them finish air drying outside the Splendide and then we don't have the odor in them.

Won't know until I remove the cabinet face plate. I really don't want to have to tear my front door apart.
