We just got back from Beavers Bend and the park is just wonderful. We got a great spot on the Acorn loop (the one at the very end all by itself) right on the river. There were only three other campers there at the time. The hiking trails at this park are just amazing. We'll definitely be back!

BB is a great park. The site I think you are referring to is indeed all by itself and a very nice site. Glad you got a good one. If you return in the summer, expect a different story. Sites are sometimes hard to come by and not at all uncommon to not find an open site. If that ever happens, don't forget the areas on up the highway on the west side of Broken Bow lake. There are a number of nice areas there also in the Stephens Gap and Cedar Creek areas a few miles north on US 259.

We definitely considered ourselves lucky to get the primo spot (appropriately named "A1"). The park was very sparsely populated over the Christmas weekend but started to fill up in the middle of the week. We'll probably come back some time next fall.
