This is why we don't snowbird in Florida!

I take it you dont snowbird in texas either. I just paid $18 to travel on the Sam Houston freeway from I-10 to 45, to get to Galveston. And the traffic made florida's 27 look like a sunday drive in the park.

When I used to work (ya'll remember that nasty four letter word) for a living, I ran a tractor trailer rig all through that area from Ocala all the way to Miami on US 27. Still causes me nightmares, and that was 10-15 years ago. Our primary customer was WalMart, and the snowbird traffic caused us fits.

Turnpike tolls arte outrageous for RVs. They just count axles. I pay the same as a fully loaded semi.

Your RV has the same number of axles as a semi? Pictures please!.................

I don't need pics for that one! Pickup with a 3 axle fifth wheel. Or we could do a DP with tag and a dingy. Both will get you 5 axles. Don't need pics for that

If you take 75 to 27, you are only on the turnpike for 1 exit, costs less than burning gas from Ocala to Villages and Leesburg. Traffic isn't bad from Clermont down, road is new , there is some construction in front of the Clermont Walmart, we live there all winter.

I don't use the turnpike since the toll is by axle & when I pull a TOAD its cheaper to unhitch and drive it separately, so, I use 27. Worst part is from Sebring to I-4 jnctn. About 60 miles takes about 2 hrs. Sucks at best.
