Would love to get more feedback about the fairly new primitive campground located near the Mittens.

Great pictures! The day we toured it was so windy it looks like our pictures were taken in a red fog. Still awesome scenery. One of the highlights of our last trip!

Way Cool, I am actually working on planning a trip in April 2011 to Monument Valley. Your blog was awesome, couple of questions. You said a tour by Navajo's was 20.00 a person. Do you have a company name for them, I have not found anything less than 75.00 a person. I am planning on staying at Goulding's RV park for 3 days Do you have any good site choices. Looking for full hookup but could do without sewer. Thanks again. I just got a little bit more excited in the planning.

We too stayed at Goulding's when we went in 2008. We were there in mid September. Most sights are nice sights, just make sure you request one long enough for your entire setup and not just the length of your RV if you have a towable. One thing that we noticed is that their power is spotty. We were running our AC and noticed that it was not really cooling. We didn't have a surge protector or way to measure the power but a neighbor told us, so we just shut off the AC to avoid any problems.
We drove ourselves through the park since we have dogs that travel with us. This allowed us to stop at every single jewelry stand and take our time taking photos. The drive from there to Lake Powell and the GC is amazing too. Beautiful country.

That cost is from the Tribal Park. I got the price from their website. You're right that there are many tour companies to choose from. All are registered with the tribal park and all are very nice I'm told. Next time we visit MV, we're going to take a tour since they show you more than just the regular valley drive loop. As for Goulding's site choices, don't really have favorites. They all are pretty nice. We chose to dry camp which in April was perfect, temp wise. No need for AC.
