Hey Lauren - that site has quite a following! We tried to reserve it weeks in advance and couldn't. Everyone asking for it!

OK, then you try for 12 or 45 I think they are; they are right up front as well but on the sides. Site 34 is in the middle. Go to www.LaurenBarbara.com Wanderings Arizona Monument Valley The last page is pix - sunset - from the site. Granted, the top two are crop but the third one is as is. We have been in that site 4 times. Not sure bigger rigs will get in 12 but should in 45. (I think I have those numbers right - got CRS you know! - but you can ask; they are they sites right up front).

Site 34 is the highest demand site in the place.

Lauren
Thanks for the site info. You mentioned site 34 then 12 and 45, are they pull thru or back in? You mentioned 12 was a little smaller than the other two, I have a 30 ft Jayco TT is that considered too big. The RV park does not have a map of the sites. Thanks for the info. I just made my reservation for the 1st week of April. I am excited only about 90 days to go...

I have a map of the campground but must have left it in the 5er; not where it should be here at home.

Sites 34 and 45 are pull thru and site 12 is a back in -- as to my best recollection. They are all along the from of the area looking out. Site 34 is in the center with 45 on the left looking out. 12 is on the right and backs into the fence on that side. Without question 34 is best, then 45 but know people who did 12 and were pleased also. They would be able to answer any details for you.

This is a picture from June 10, 2010 when we stayed at Goulding's for three days. Nice spot, but I don't remember the number. We had a delicious meal at their dining room, enjoyed seeing the very nice gift shop, museum on site, and the "Earth Spirit" and "Among the Momuments" short movies at their theatre have beautiful photography and really explain the geography and history of the area. Lots of history on John Ford movies. We took day trips from there to Mexican Hat to eat at the "Swinging Steak" (delicious) and Natural Bridges.

Do be aware if you have dogs that the Navajo dogs run free through the campgrounds and just about anywhere on tribal land. We had no problems, but did keep a close watch. Also be prepared to have red dust everywhere and red shoes. We got caught in one bad dust storm on the way to Canyon De Chelly. It was an awesome trip.

The site to the left - on the end - of the Class B is either 34 or 45 - can't tell for sure. The view to the left is straight down thru the "window" to Monument Valley.

The Indian dogs pretty much roam thru but I do not think they really cause a problem. We had one hang around and we called her Indian Princess - I had given her part of a turkey hot dog (she was expecting pups) and so she stayed under our stairs while we were there.

In reguard to the picture I posted of Gouldings of our site: I just found, after some digging, our campground sheet. The site our Born Free is on is site #44. Site 45 is the empty one right beside us. No one was there so we had a very nice view of the valley.

You guys are awesome, there is nothing better than getting first hand info with pictures! I was also looking at Restaurants in area, I'll be looking into the steak place you mentioned. My wife of 24 yrs is Navajo but has never been to the nation except when really young. I have never been. My teenage daughters are even excited. Were gonna stay at a Flagstaff KOA the first night then 3 nights in Gouldings, then down to I40 probably Meteor Crater for 3 days to visit with friends then back to Vegas. Thanks again for the info.
